Certified Arborist

D & J Arborists Tree Services is searching for a certified arborist to add to our team. It is critical that our Arborists provide quality and timely plant health care and general tree care advice for our valued clients. We are searching for someone who has at least 5 - 10 years of experience as a Certified Arborist and a strong suite in management.

Some of the responsibilities of the job are:

  • Service, maintain and grow assigned territory.
  • Make client and prospect visits to diagnose and monitor tree and shrub health.
  • Negotiate contract and bid proposals for residential and commercial customers.
  • Develop and implement tree care & plant health care programs.
  • Set-up crews, supervise work being performed, and complete jobs to client satisfaction.
  • Continually prospect for new business.
  • Maintain a safe and controlled workplace and environment.
  • Enforce company safety and training policies.
  • Attend community and industry events to help promote our business.
Skills/Abilities:
•The proven ability to establish, maintain and grow a sales territory. •Hands-on knowledge of trees and plant health care. •The ability to correctly and effectively diagnose and price various tree care treatments. •The ability to prepare and present proposals. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills/listening skills. •The ability to fill in where needed (Working as a climber or grounds man) Education/Training: •Two or four year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environment Sciences, Biological Sciences, or equivalent is a plus. •ISA certification mandatory, or the ability to secure certification within 90 days. •Valid driver's license.

Base Salary plus commission. Benefits provided after 6 months of employment for full time employees.

Tree Climber

D & J Arborists Tree Services is seeking a full time position for a tree climber with a minimum of three years' experience. Must know proper trimming techniques, experience installing cables and bracing rods, applying ANSI standards, and some experience with estimating jobs is a real plus. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and your own transportation to and from work. Must be reliable and on time.

Groundsman

D & J Arborists Tree Services is seeking a part time position, 30 to 35 hours per week, for a ground crew member. Must have experience with a chipper, chain saw, and pole sawing. We strongly prefer three to five years of experience. We are seeking someone with a valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation. Compensation: DOE; between $10-$15/hour. We are looking to hire immediately.
