This is the largest group of credential holders. These professional arborists have a minimum of three years' experience in some aspect of tree care and have passed an exam developed by an international panel of experts. The exam extensively covers every aspect of tree care and the individuals must have an acceptable level of knowledge in all areas of arboriculture.
The membership of TCIA is composed of commercial tree care businesses and the firms that provide supplies, services, and equipment to the tree care industry. All employees are members through a company membership. TCIA develops a wide range of tree care & tree service safety and training programs, industry standards of practice, government compliance and business management information, plus a host of other services to assist business owners in the successful growth of their business.
The Texas Department of Agriculture is designated as the state's lead agency in the regulation of pesticide use and application. TDA is responsible for licensing and training pesticide applicators, overseeing worker protection, registering pesticides for sale in the state and working to minimize unnecessary impacts to agriculture while enhancing protection of endangered and threatened species.
